Sometime last year my wife and I were playing Team Fortress 2 on the map cp_fastlane and we noticed a spelling error in the Red spawn room. The sign you see below is what we saw.

If you can’t read the pictures because I cropped them in a way which makes them unreadable, there is a spelling error, it reads “Enginner” instead of “Engineer”. I decided I would e-mail in about the spelling error and got a quick reply from someone from the TF2 team with this below;

“James- We’ll fix this for the next TF2 update. We can’t grant you a DOTA2 beta key, but be sure to check the material again after the update.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.”

Awesome I thought, and yes, I did beg for a Dota2 key. So I waited until Thursday when TF2 patches usually get applied. After waiting I loaded in to the map and checked the RED spawn room and I saw this below;

I noticed the spelling error was fixed, along with the addition of “Inspected by J & Associates” which seemed like a reference to my spell checking. Eager to confirm this as I thought it was awesome, I e-mailed the TF2 team member back and I was replied to with “You are immortalized. =)” .

If you load in to the map at any point on an updated version of Team Fortress 2 you will see this., I’m pretty proud of getting something permanent into one of my favourite games, and on the subject of favourite games, I’m visiting Valve in April at there Washington offices, dead excited.

Watch Tower Volume 1

So just after I finished my radio show for this week the postman shows up with this. This is the first release from the brand new Freeform label, Watch Tower Records. There is a short supply of labels releasing good Freeform, so as soon as I heard about Watchtower I had to pre-order their first release right away. Volume 1 is a double CD pack, which contains one CD with ten full length tracks for DJ’s, and another mixed CD by “Watch Tower DJ’s” (It doesn’t specify exactly who).

I’ve already listened to the entire album and I’m incredibly impressed. For a first release this is very, very strong. The album has a lot of range with its use of different sounds, you can really hear the inspiration in these tracks. From the full on Trance sound by A.B to the Dubstep influenced breaks and vocals by Douglas and Lost Soul. There’s a bit of everything on this album, and the creativity is there to back it up. This is going to be an album I will be using in a few upcoming projects, and I look forward to playing it out.
