Week In Review 22/06/09 (The Stig & South West Trains)

Beware, I post spoilers of this weeks Top Gear in this post so make sure you have watched it before reading this. Season 13 of Top Gear finally aired this week! And I have to say, what a bloody brilliant episode! They had a race from London to Edinburgh with James May in an old Jaguar, Hammond on a Black Shadow bike and Clarkson in a steam engine. At first you think Clarkson will win, after all he was really far ahead. But James May pulled ahead and won it… just. Hammond didn’t even finish. During the middle part of the episode they were doing the news, and then the Stig walked in and removed his helmet. It turned out to be none over then the world famous F1 world champion Michael Schumacher. Somehow I don’t believe it. And there is several reasons why I think this is a joke. Despite the fact that they specificity said at the end of the episode “You know, I don’t think Michael Schumacher really is the stig” “I think we made it up, now that is a bombshell”. He also winked when he took his helmet off. I have no idea why all the papers are publishing that he is. But either way, It was a fantastic episode and I really can’t wait until next week. Also that FXX is a damn sexy car, looks like something straight out of Batman. Below is the clip of the “Stig” taking off his helmet for the first time. Remember to watch the end of the episode for counter proof!

Earlier this week I ordered myself some brand new speaker brackets so I can finally put my speakers on the wall. I had to buy the clamping variety because apparently my Alesis M1 Actives don’t have mounting sockets/screws. They were slightly more expensive then the screw variety. They arrive today but I can’t put them up until Andrew is back from Glastonbury because hes the one with the power drill. On the subject of music I came up with a nice little Intro cut this week of Nic Chagalls “This Moment”. I used a segment as Coldplays “Viva La Vida” as the intro part and tied the two together in Ableton. It turned out quite nicely, I was thinking of using the dub version of the Viva La Vida song though because I don’t think it sounds quite as good with the two lyrics next to each other. The song is titled “Nic Chagall ft Jonathan Mendelsohn vs Coldplay – This Moment (The Jimo Viva La Vida Intro Edition)” Huge name I know, It will be used as the intro track for Volume 5. Jimocore v3 is finally on the Digitally Imported stream for those who are wondering. It has not been played yet though for some reason, there were a lot of submissions this month so that is probably why. I’m still working on getting my radio show sorted out for those who are wondering. The reason It’s taking so long is because I need to get myself a new microphone. The microphone I used for my computer is completely different and wont fit into the mixer, and NERadio wont let you play live without a microphone so yeah. There will be some big announcements in the upcoming few weeks, so stay tuned. Don’t forget to become my fan on Facebook or Twitter so you can see live updates!

This upcoming week I have a lot to do . I’ve been applying for jobs like crazy, most employers don’t even call me back for some reason. Even with my reviewed CV it isn’t good enough. It makes me wonder what other people who get called for interviews are like. What is there cover letter and CV like? I get the feeling that mine can’t be much better. I wrote it with Megan and shes damn good at that kind of thing. I have some meetings this week to see if I can get any further with my search. I’ve been searching for places to see, do and eat at in London this week. I’m trying to compile a big list. So If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment and let me know. So far I have all of the obvious ones on the list, London Eye, Big Ben, China Town etc etc. I’m going to leave this post there, because really this week not much has gone on so I would just be rambling if I was to continue, kind of like what I’m doing now. How was your week? Let me know by leaving a comment! Until next time.

It’s really difficult for all sorts of people to find jobs right now. I’m in nursing school, and some of my older classmates graduated 6 months ago and still cannot find jobs. A really big thing that helps is networking and good reviews from past jobs. Good luck in your continuing search!
