Week In Review 07/12/09 (Birthday & Updates Finally!)

It’s been two weeks or so since I’ve wrote a blog post. I felt that I wasn’t writing anything interesting so I decided to give it a break for a couple of weeks just so I have something to talk about. Well I’m back now and I do indeed have some interesting things to talk about. It was my birthday the other day and I turned 19. I had a very good day, I got some money from my parents and the P Diddy Cologne called “I Am King – Sean John” from Megan. The cologne smells absolutely amazing, I highly recommend it. In the evening I went out for dinner with my Mum, Dad and Andrew. We went to Pizza Express and it was my first time going to one, it turned out to be really good! The most frustrating part of it was eating pizza with a knife and fork, I’m more used to using my hands. After a bit of frustration I decided it would be easier to just pick the pizza up whole and eat it. I’m a pig, I know. Overall I had a good day, the only thing that could of made it better was Megan and John being there for it.

You might of noticed in that last paragraph that I mentioned that my Dad went to dinner with us, well the fact is he did. After a long struggle he was finally released from hospital care, and he’s now back at home. I was starting to get very sick of going up to the hospital constantly, especially with it being in Tooting instead of Kingston like it was before. He is still getting regular home visits but things are a lot better then they were before. I was getting scared that he wouldn’t ever be back to normal, but it turns out that he’s almost completely back to normal. It’s quite bizarre what the plasma exchange did for him. But anyway, he’s back at home now and he’s already complaining about getting me to install Windows 7 for him. I will get around to it eventually, I’m sure.

Work has been going really well recently. There have been a few things that have been irritating me though. Mainly uncooperative customers who complain until they get what they want. I wish people would stop taking things out on me personally. I work for the company, and I abide by the company rules and guidelines. If I tell you that I can’t make a transaction, it isn’t because I dislike you or because I have a problem with you. It’s because I will be breaking the rules and my job will be liable. I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t hate the player, hate the game… or in this case, don’t hate the employee, hate the company. Problems aside though, things are going great. I’ve been told I’m doing very well at my job and I’m happy about it. I’ve also made a bunch of new friends which is also a bonus. The Christmas rush is starting flock in soon as well, so I’m sure I will have lots of fun stories to tell eventually.

Things are going absolutely brilliantly on the music side of things. The last post I made was announcing my brand new radio show. If you didn’t read the post, you can catch the London Sounds Exposed show every Thursday at 6-8pm GMT time, only on Digitally Imported Radio. The show has been going really well, the third episode airs this coming Thursday. I’m trying to get as many people involved as possible in the show. In the next episode I’ve got some new songs from a lot of unsigned producers, and in the upcoming weeks I’ve got a bunch of guest DJs who will be playing some exclusive guestmixes. I’m really excited about the future of the show, it’s been a long time in the making and I’m glad it’s finally airing! On the other side of the spectrum, I haven’t forgotten about “2009 Collection” Volume 9. I have been busy with work this past week and I’ve been mentioning on my Twitter and Facebook that I will be starting work on it soon. Well I can now confirm that Volume 9 has indeed been started, and it will be finished either by the end of this week, or next, more then likely this week though. The final mix in the “2009 Collection” series, Volume 10 will be released on New Years Eve and it will feature a showcase of my favourite songs from the whole series, as well as brand new songs. Both mixes are really something to look forward to, and a lot of effort is being put into them so I hope you guys will enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them. Another thing to keep an eye out for is a brand new mix by DJ Bluecore and myself. It will be played exclusively on Digitally Imported / Happy Hardcore radio in the near future, so be on the look out for that.

I apologize for the lack of updates. I’m going to try and keep up to date with things from now on. I really appreciate all of the support I get on my projects, so thanks for being patient with me. I will be doing some website maintenance this week as well to add a “Radio” page. The Radio page will allow people to view the tracklist of each of my radio show episodes as well as search for them. Until next week, I hope everyone has a good week/weekend!
